This policy explains what ParkClosures.com ("we") collects when you use this site and what we do with it. We keep it to what we need to run the Service.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe to a park or buy Pro.
- Your choices: the parks you follow, whether you've confirmed them, your plan (Free or Pro), when we last emailed you, and random secret codes in your links (your "manage" link and your widget key).
- Payment details are held by Stripe, not by us. We never see your card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID next to your email address so we can end your Pro plan when your subscription ends.
- Technical information: like most websites, our web server records your IP address and basic request details in its logs, and the site briefly counts requests per IP address to block abuse. We use this only for security and to keep the site running.
We don't use cookies, advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
How we use it
- To send the emails you asked for: confirmations, park alerts, and the Pro daily digest.
- To give you Pro features and keep your plan correct.
- To keep the Service secure and stop abuse.
Every alert and digest email has an unsubscribe link. We don't sell your information and we don't send marketing email.
Who else handles your information
- Stripe processes payments and handles billing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Brevo delivers our emails, so it sees your email address and the messages.
- Our hosting provider runs the servers that store this information.
The National Park Service supplies the park data. We send it nothing about you. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and subscriptions until you remove them. You can delete everything yourself at any time: open the "manage" link in any email we sent you and choose "Delete everything". That removes your email address, your subscriptions and the link to your Stripe customer record from our systems. Stripe keeps its own payment records as financial rules require. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then removed. Please cancel any paid subscription before deleting, because deleting your data here does not cancel it with Stripe.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any park with the link in its emails and delete your data as described above. You can also ask us to tell you what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional legal rights, and we will honor them. Contact us using the details below.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us an email address, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and the secret codes in your links are long and random. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your links private.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above.
